About Colt

Colt, Inc. was incorporated in 1994 to address the need for experience in the processing for beneficial use and recycling of scrap tires with a focus on the Gulf Coast. The staff has over 100 years of experience combined in all aspects of whole scrap tire recycling. Colt was a founding member of the National Association of Scrap Tire Processors (NASTP) now in the Tire and Rubber Division of the Recycled Materials Association (ReMA).

Colt, Inc. is licensed and recognized by the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality as a Scrap Tire Processor and Transporter in Scott, LA, and in New Orleans, LA, Colt is also permitted in Texas and Mississippi as a Waste Tire Transporter.

In addition to processing over 150,000 automobile, truck and off-road scrap tires a month, Colt thrives to educate the public on the many uses of scrap tire material and offer remediation services for scrap tire dumpsites.

We do our part by collecting and recycling waste tires that reduce the consumption of natural resources. We join other conservation advocates in promoting a greener and cleaner world for the benefit of all.

Personnel experience includes the collection and processing of over 75 million scrap tires. The implementation of routing and tire collection systems as well as wholesale market research for used tires and end market development for processed tire material. Colt can handle any size of scrap tire and is the most sought-after company for remediation of unauthorized tire piles in Louisiana.

What can I expect from the integration with Liberty?

This merger aims to maintain and improve the high level of service that both Liberty and Colt have provided for our customers. If you are a Colt customer, you will continue to be serviced by Colt. You should not experience any disruption to your service.

Will the Colt team be the same?

Colt's leadership team and sales team will remain the same, maintaining regular contact, calling and visiting as needed—and they can be reached at the same office and cell phone numbers. The focus remains on providing best-in-class service and developing more opportunities for recycled and beneficial use of end-of-life tires.

I have a couple of old tires on my property, what can I do with them?

The Department of Environmental Quality allows the public to bring (5) tires *per person/per day to Colt, Inc. Anything over 5 please call ahead.

Can anybody pick up tires?

No, in order to transport tires in Louisiana a person/company must be permitted by LA DEQ as a Waste Tire Transporter. Unless they are bringing (5) tires to a permitted collection facility.

Can you pick up offshore or 'cleanup' tires from third party business?

Yes, we can/will pick up tires that are not considered part of the Louisiana Tire Program. Call for a quote.
