Thomas Womble is the Chief Executive Officer of Liberty Tire Recycling, the only coast-to-coast North American tire recycler. He has more than 30 years of combined experience transforming solid waste businesses into modern sustainable enterprises. 

Mr. Womble was both a founder of one of the companies that became Liberty Tire Recycling and an early investor in the newly consolidated organization. He returned to Liberty as the Chief Operating Officer in 2013 and was named CEO in 2017. Under his leadership, Liberty has grown from a regional tire processing company to a coast-to-coast integrated tire recycler, covering all aspects of the business including hauling, processing, and manufacturing. Liberty today collects more than 219 million tires across all 50 states and western Canada and has more than 3,500 employees. Liberty is widely recognized as the leader in its field and was the first tire recycling company to publish a sustainability report and establish a Zero Waste Goal.

Mr. Womble lives in Sanford, North Carolina, where in addition to his role in Liberty, he is an entrepreneur in the agricultural and retail spaces. He holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of North Carolina Wilmington.

Mr. Cummings joined Liberty Tire Recycling in January 2013 and held the role as the Company’s Controller, and Chief Accounting and Administrative Officer.  He has more than 35 years of experience within the waste management, oil & gas, chemicals and plastics manufacturing industries.  Prior to Liberty Tire Recycling, he held C-level positions with EQT Corporation and Aristech Chemical Corporation.  Mr. Cummings is a certified public accountant and earned his B.S. in accounting from Penn State University, an MBA in Finance from the University of Pittsburgh and a certificate in advanced corporate taxation from Michigan State University.

Mr. Bergkoetter served as Senior Vice President of Industrial at Tiffany & Co. from 2004 to 2024, overseeing global diamond and jewelry operations across 14 international sites with more than 7,500 employees. He led manufacturing, sourcing, product engineering, and quality, providing over $1.5 billion in annual cost of goods sold. Before Tiffany, he held roles at SmartOps (acquired by SAP), PwC, and GE, began his career as a U.S. Navy submarine officer, and holds degrees from Villanova and Carnegie Mellon. 

Mr. Vescovi joined Liberty Tire Recycling in 2018. Prior to joining he held various positions at Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield for 22 years and has more than 30 years of experience in IT within the healthcare, finance and manufacturing industries. Mr. Vescovi earned a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, advanced certificates in strategy and innovation and management and leadership from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an M.A. in project management from Duquesne University.

Mr. Ryan joined Liberty Tire Recycling in June 2023. He previously served as the Chief Financial Officer of Resources Environmental Solutions (RES), a middle market environmental services business backed by Onex and KKR. Prior to joining RES, he worked as an investment professional in the Americas Private Equity division of KKR and began his career in the investment banking division of Tudor, Pickering, Holt & Co. (now a part of Perella Weinberg Partners). Mr. Ryan holds a B.A. in Economics & Global Studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he was a Morehead-Cain Scholar.

Mr Meurer brings more than 30 years of experience in the manufacturing space to Liberty Tire Recycling, most recently spending the last 12 years at Michelin North America as the Vice President of Sales for the North American Tire Division. Prior to that his time was spent in management positions at Procter & Gamble (P&G) and Kimberly-Clark. He has decades of experience working with both retailers and manufacturers in the tire industry and beyond. Mr. Meurer earned his BA in Economics and Political Science from Hobart College Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Economics from Hobart and William Smith Colleges. He joined Liberty in January, 2024.

Mr. Helon joined Liberty Tire Recycling in 2011 and has served in a variety of progressive finance and commercial operating roles. He has more than 15 years of experience in finance and prior to his time at Liberty, worked for Deloitte. Mr. Helon has a B.S. in business administration from Bucknell University and is also a certified public accountant.

Mr. DeCarlo brings more than 20 years in business, legal and leadership experience to Liberty Tire Recycling. He earned his J.D. and M.B.A. from West Virginia University. Mr. DeCarlo received a B.S. from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, New York, and is a former U.S. Army officer serving in the United States, Germany and Iraq. He has been part of the Liberty Tire Recycling leadership team since 2010.

Mr. Greenstein, Executive Vice President and Sr. Advisor to the CEO, has more than 35 years of experience in the recycling industry.  As the former owner of US Tire Recycling, one of Liberty Tire’s first acquisitions, and Lakin Tire which was acquired in 2018, Mr. Greenstein brings a wealth of knowledge to the team at Liberty Tire Recycling.  Prior to his time at Liberty, he was also the President & CEO of Waste Recovery, Inc.  David received his BS/BA from Boston University and is also a Certified Public Accountant.

Ms. Eastman joined Liberty Tire Recycling full time in 2018, after consulting with the firm on various projects for several years. She has more than 20 years of experience in operations, finance, sales and marketing and is experienced in manufacturing, banking and broadcasting. Prior to joining Liberty Tire, Ms. Eastman was vice president of operations for NEP Broadcasting. She is a certified public accountant and a proud Clemson Tiger.

Juan E. Mayol serves as Chief Accounting Officer of Liberty Tire Recycling, where he leads the Company's accounting, financial strategy, internal controls, tax, compliance, and financial governance functions. He partners with executive leadership to support strategic growth, operational excellence, and long-term value creation.

Mr. Mayol brings more than 17 years of experience in accounting, finance, auditing, mergers and acquisitions, financial strategy, and business transformation. His background spans private equity-backed, publicly traded, and privately held organizations across manufacturing, industrial, consumer products, financial services, healthcare, and technology sectors. He has worked extensively with executive leadership teams, boards of directors, audit committees, investors, lenders, and regulatory agencies throughout the United States, Latin America, and Europe.

Prior to joining Liberty Tire Recycling, Mr. Mayol served as Chief Accounting Officer & Treasurer of Time Manufacturing Holdings and Vice President of Accounting & Taxation at Woodstream Corporation, where he led finance transformation initiatives, enterprise-wide compliance programs, and strategic transactions. Earlier in his career, he spent more than a decade with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), ultimately serving as Assurance Director.

Mr. Mayol holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from the University of Puerto Rico and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

Ms. Brackin joined Liberty Tire Recycling in 2012 and held roles in business and market development before being promoted to VP, Sustainability and leading the company’s ESG strategy and sustainability initiatives. Ms. Brackin earned her B.A. in political science at the University of Delaware and has completed coursework on Sustainability Management from Duke University and Yale’s Executive Education program. She currently serves as a member of ASTM’s COTCO Board and is a past chair of the Synthetic Turf Council (STC).
